Venus Rising

I took a walk outside today for the first time in a while,

Just to see what was on our horizon.

And yet somehow through the haze (all courtesy of refineries),

I could have sworn that I saw Venus rising.

 

So what are you going to do right now?

Somehow, the moral still escapes us now and then.

And where are you going to in this world you don't

believe in anymore?

 

Like Mr. Reed once said, "Stick a fork in (them) they're done."

... kinda like the progeny we're handling.

And we lead them by the hand like an arrow to the sun,

and have no idea where they're landing.

The paid corporate toadies say, "It's really not that bad."

But is it really worth the risk we're taking?
