As a result of the Compilation, Cagle learned European distribution. Each step of the way was a learning experience, mostly by the seat of his pants. "I started cutting lots of local bands because my rates were cheap," says Cagle. During the Gulf War, Cagle produced a song saluting the members of the armed forces. The project involved a number of Houston artist. That's when he met Carolyn Wonderland. At the time, Wonderland was managed by Chris Harkness. After the two had a falling out, Cagle approached Wonderland. "This was after Carolyn settled in with the Imperial Monkeys," says Cagle. "I wanted to try to get her into South by Southwest (the Austin music industry conference)." The Imperial Monkeys were accepted to perform at the 1992 SXSW. Cagle rushed the group into the studio and they cut "Groove Milk" in four days. "We barely had enough time to get the masters to Creative Sounds to produce the cassette. They turned it around for us in ten days, one Day before the South By Southwest Conference started," says Cagle. It was Wonderland's first out of town gig. The band played an early slot at a Thursday night show.
